Specimen Requirements

Specimen must arrive within 30 minutes of collection and by 1300.

 

Collect specimen using a clean, dry container as follows:

1. Patient should have 2 to 5 days of sexual abstinence.

2. Entire ejaculate is best collected by masturbation. (Specimen collected in a condom is not acceptable.)

3. Label container with patient’s name (first and last) and date and actual time of collection.

4. Specimen should be maintained at body temperature.

Note:  Complete an “Orders for Fertility Lab Services” form and send it with the specimen.
