Methodology
The Verify Now System is a turbidimetric based optical system which measures platelet-induced aggregation.
The Verify Now PRU test is designed to measure platelet P2Y12 receptor blockage. Substances known to specifically block P2Y12 receptors include the thienopyridine class of drugs, including Clopidogrel (Plavix).

Specimen Requirements
Specimen must arrive in laboratory within 4 hours of draw at ambient temperature.
Specimen Type: Whole blood
Container/Tube: Special sodium citrate (blue) tube by Vacuette
Specimen Volume: 2 ml (Black arrow on tube).
Collection Instructions:
1.Preferred collection through direct venipuncture with a 21 gauge needle.
2. Collect minimum 2 ml in waste tube in P2Y12 Inhibitor Test Kit
3. Fill both blue tubes in kit to indicator arrow (2 ml)
4. Discard waste tube. Label blue tubes for testing. Gently invert 5 times.
5. Must be hand delivered to laboratory.
6. Do NOT refrigerate or centrifuge.
