Methodology

Enzyme-Linked Fluorescent Immunoassay (ELFA)

Specimen Requirements

Draw blood in a plain, red-top tube(s) or a serum gel tube(s). Spin down and send 1 mL of serum refrigerated.

 

Unspun specimens must be transported at ambient temperature and arrive to the laboratory within one hour of draw.

Reference Range

  Non-Immune: <8.9

  Immune: ≥11.0

 

Eequivocal range of 9.0 – 10.9. Results falling into the equivocal range need to be repeated. If the result remains equivocal after repeat testing, a second sample should be collected no less than one to two weeks later.
