Specimen Requirements
Specimen must arrive within 48 hours of draw.
Draw blood in three pink-top (K3 EDTA) tubes, and one red-top (serum no gel) and send all tubes to the laboratory. Do not spin down.

CPT codes will be determined by the testing that is performed and will not be known until testing is complete. Please call 249-5200 for billling information.
Useful For
When St. Luke's Transfusion Services cannot complete the requested and required immunohematology testing in house, specimens will be sent to Memorial Blood Centers (MBC) Reference Laboratory. Testing sent to MBC Reference Laboratory includes, but is not limited to, antibody identification, platelet compatibility testing, HLA antibody screening, HLA-matched platelets, and eltuion studies. MBC Reference Laboratory will assis in obtaining rare blood products for transfusion when necessary.
