Specimen Requirements

Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube, and send a minimum of 1 mL EDTA whole blood.  Forward promplty at ambient temperature.

Note:  If specimenwill not arrive at St. Luke's Laboratory the same day the specimen is collected, refrigerate the specimen for up to 48 hours.  Transport at ambient temperature.  Do not place EDTA whole blood directly on top of an ice pack.
