Complement Fixation

Draw sample in a yellow- top (serum SST) tube. Spin down and send 1 mL of serum refrigerated.

Identify specimens as acute or convalescent. Acute and convalescent specimens must be submitted as separate test requests.

Unspun specimens must be transported at ambient temperature and should arrive to the laboratory within one hour of draw.
