Testing Algorithm:
If the Hepatitis B Core Total antibody is positive, then Hepatitis B Core Antibody IgM will be performed at an additional charge.
If the Hepatitis C Antibody is positive, then Hepatitis C RNA Quantitation will be performed at an additional charge.

Specimen Requirements
Draw blood in a serum gel tube(s). Spin down within 2 hours of draw, and send 2 mL of serum refrigerated. Avoid hemolysis. If there is a delay in transport of >1 day, send an additonal 1 ml of frozen serum in a plastic vial for possible reflex confirmation.
Unspun specimens must be transported at ambient temperature and arrive to the laboratory within one hour of draw.
