Specimen Requirements
Plasma
Collect specimen in two PPT or lavender-top (EDTA) tubes. Specimen must be centrifuged within six hours of collection. Remove plasma and transfer to a screw-cap poplypropylene transport tube and freeze. Specimens that are not received frozen will be rejected. Specimen must be labeled with the patient's name and date of birth as well as the date and time ofcollection.
Please indicated the patient's HCV genotype (1a or 1b) on the test requisition.

Intended Use
This test is used to detect resistance in HCV to direct-acting antiviral agents.
Limitations of the Procedure
This procedure may not be successful when the viral load is <2000IU/mL plasma. This assay reqauires an HCV genotype of either 1a or 1b.
