Specimen Requirements
Serum and plasma (EDTA and heparin) are the recommended sample type.
Spin down and send 1 mL of serum/plasma refrigerated.
Note: Specimen can be refrigerated at 2° C to 8° C for up to 48 hours.
Freeze samples in a plastic vial if there is a delay of more than 48 hours before testing.
Unspun specimens must be transported at ambient temperature and arrive to the laboratory within one hour of draw.
